What is Content Pillar?

One of the few recurring themes you deliberately publish about, so strangers learn what to file you under.

A content pillar is a recurring theme you deliberately return to when publishing: one of the three to five territories your content lives in, such as pricing strategy, hiring lessons, and behind-the-scenes builds. Pillars solve two problems at once. For you, they end the blank-page question, because every post starts from a known lane instead of an open horizon, and ideas can be banked against each pillar as they occur. For your audience, repetition builds association: seeing the same themes handled well, week after week, is precisely how strangers come to file you under a specialty and remember you when it becomes relevant. Choose pillars where three circles overlap, meaning your positioning, your actual evidence, and your audience's interests, and make each one concrete enough to generate posts on demand. A workable mix pairs a couple of core expertise pillars with one proof pillar, results and case stories, and one human pillar that keeps you a person. Revisit the set every quarter or so; pillars should evolve with your positioning, not fossilize it.
