What is Carousel Post?

A multi-page swipeable post, created on LinkedIn today by uploading a PDF as a document post.

A carousel post is a multi-page, swipeable post format. On LinkedIn today you create one by uploading a PDF as a document post: each page becomes a slide readers flip through directly in the feed. LinkedIn briefly offered a native carousel creation format and retired it in late 2023, so the PDF route is now the standard method, and any guide describing a built-in carousel builder is describing the past. The format suits material with a natural sequence: frameworks, step-by-step processes, teardowns, before-and-after stories. The design rules follow from the phone screens where carousels get read. Put one idea on each slide, set type large enough to read without pinching, make the cover slide work as a hook in its own right, and end with a closing slide carrying the takeaway or next step. Because flipping pages is itself engagement, carousels can hold attention unusually well, but only when each slide earns the next swipe. Build the deck in any tool that exports a clean PDF, and check legibility at phone size before you publish.
