What is Reach?

The number of unique people who saw your content at least once, as opposed to total impressions.

Reach is the number of unique people who saw a piece of content at least once, as opposed to impressions, which count every serve including repeats to the same person. The distinction matters whenever you interpret analytics: impressions answer how often your content appeared, reach answers how many humans it appeared to. LinkedIn's member-facing analytics lean on impressions, and where a unique-viewer figure exists it may be labeled differently, such as unique views or members reached, depending on the surface and whether you are looking at a personal post or a company page dashboard. When a true reach number is not shown, impressions work as a rough proxy, as long as you remember they overstate the human count. Reach grows through resonance rather than volume alone: comments and shares put content in front of the commenters' own networks, which is why a real conversation under a post routinely beats a silent scroll-past for expanding who actually sees you.
